That special time of the year is here again, Submission Season! We’re kicking things off a little early this year and extending the window from October 1st to November 30th. So if you’re a writer with a manuscript ready to submit to us, this is your chance. We only ask that you make sure to submit it while our submissions are open and that you follow the guidelines closely. We will not accept queries outside of our submissions period and we will not review anything that doesn’t have all the information we asked for or does not fit within our accepted genres and target markets.
So what are we asking you to send?
A query letter which clearly states the word count, target market (that’s the age group), and genre of you manuscript and any other important details like, is it a series or a stand alone? It’s also best to include a short but compelling description here, no more than a short paragraph and a little bit about you, the author.
A synopsis that’s less than a page long. We don’t need a complete play by play. We need a general idea of what your story is about, the major events in it, the climax and the ending. A good length is 2/3 to 3/4 of a page.
The first three chapters of your novel, or equivalent sample attached as a separate .doc or .docx file. Don’t send a random sample from the middle of your book, we want to read the opening. Openings are very important to get right as they entice your reader to invest in your story. Impress us.
And that’s it. As for genres, you can find a list of genres we’re looking for and those we definitely don’t want you to send on our website: http://www.mirrorworldpublishing.com/submissions
Thanks for reading and we look forward to reviewing your submissions!
All the best finding that gem of a novel during submission season, Mirror World! Cheers!
