Only 22 days until our submissions re-open. Are you ready?
Fair warning, this year the competition will be fierce! That’s not a reason to shy away from submitting though, that’s just my way of letting you know that we are on the lookout for the best of the best. We’re looking for our next bestseller. If you think that could be your manuscript then please, send it along!
If hearing that makes you nervous about submitting to us, please don’t be. Even though we can only publish 4-6 books a year and we’ve gotten to the point where we have to be very selective in what we publish, we’re always flattered to receive your queries and happy to provide what feedback and help we can to help make your manuscript the best it can be, even if it is not the right fit for us.
So mark your calendars, or if you know anyone who writes the genres that we publish please let them know that our submissions will be open as of November 1st. We look forward to hearing from you. You can find our submissions guidelines and everything you need to know here.
If you’d rather pitch your book in person, you have that option also. We’ll be at a number of events during our submissions season and you are welcome to come and talk to us, just please remember to be brief as we’ll be super busy trying to sell books for the holiday season. Also be aware that even if you pitch to us verbally, we will still want you to follow up with an electronic submission through email, as it is easier for us to keep track of your submission, review it, and make sure to get back to you on schedule that way.
So if you want to meet us, pitch a book, or stock up your reading list, here’s where we will be over the next couple of months:
October 27th – Fall Pop-up Bazaar
From 9:30 am to 3pm, we’ll be at the Caboto Club in Windsor for a fall-themed vendor show.
November 2-3rd – Souwesto Book Expo / WORDS Festival
The first weekend in November is Souwesto Book Expo in London, Ontario. Sponsored by the annual WORDS Festival and the London Writers Society, this literary event takes place in London’s Museum. Come and see us, it’s always a great time!
November 17th – Christmas Holiday Bazaar
From 9:30 am to 3 pm we’ll be at the Riverside Sportsman Club for a Christmas Holiday-themed vendor show.
November 24th – Caboto Holiday Market
Hours TBD, but likely 9am -3pm, we will be at the Caboto Club again for a Holiday-themed vendor market.
December 4, 11, 18th – Windsor Crossing Christmas Market
On Wednesday evenings from 4pm to 8pm leading up to Christmas, we will be at Windsor Crossing for their Christmas Market. This is a great market with music, food and merchandise vendors and activities. Santa will be there too!
Thanks for reading and we look forward to hearing from you!
