An Opportunity for Writers of All Kinds…

You may remember a while back (in February) reading about the writer’s residency I was lucky enough to attend. Well, for those of you who thought, “I would love to do that!” Now’s your chance. The very same residency I attended is now accepting applications for 2020. Here’s the announcement from the hosts:

ANNOUNCEMENT: Applications are now open for the January 2020 Writers’ Residency! The residency will be from January 12 to February 8. Six writers will be selected to receive airfare to New Orleans (up to $350), a weekly stipend of $200, a cozy twin bed with built-in storage, breakfast every morning, and weekly excursions to interact with other writers around New Orleans.

The application deadline is September 30. Although that is a few months away, we encourage early applications. They allow us to spend more time getting to know the work you submit, which is nice for us, and which helps prevent your piece from getting lost in the last-minute shuffle.

We hope to see your application soon!

If you would value a month away to focus on your writing and would love to experience the culture of New Orleans while meeting new people in the writing world, I would definitely recommend this residency. It’s a once in a life time opportunity and I’m super glad I was able to experience it.

Speaking of which, I’m currently working on rewrites of the book I wrote while there, Uncommon. So subscribe to this blog where I will be telling you all about it soon enough!

Thanks for reading!
