My dream has always been to ‘one day’ walk into a major bookstore, like Chapters or Indigo, and find my book on a shelf. I didn’t know then just how much of an uphill battle that would be, but that dream set me on the path to finishing not only one novel, but several, and through the painstaking process of learning the publishing business and becoming an entrepreneur. And, today, that dream is finally within sight.
As you know, Forbidden by Matthew Freake launched May 17th, 2015, kicking off our Summer of New Releases. The above is a photo of a shelf in the Indigo closest to our office where you can walk in and purchase Forbidden. The best part is, Forbidden is the first Mirror World book to be held in the store, but it will not be the last, soon Disenchanted by Leigh Goff will join it, and after that The Last Timekeepers and the Arch of Atlantis by Sharon Ledwith, which launches June 17th online, and at The Artspeak Gallery in Windsor on June 19th . And the Indigo in Tecumseh isn’t the only store to carry our books. Coles in the Tecumseh Mall has ordered both Forbidden and Disenchanted and the Chapters in the Devonshire Mall will soon follow, joining the ranks of PB Books, Juniper Books, Crafter’s Plus, From Our Hands to Yours, and the University of Windsor Bookstore, among others.
So my dream will finally be fully realized on August 17th, 2015 when my newest novel, Unintended, hits the shelves (for real this time!). Murandy and I couldn’t be more excited to see our dreams become reality and to see our business grow to the next level.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the management at Coles and Indigo in Tecumseh for your patience and assistance and thank our authors for helping to make our dreams a reality. And congratulations also to Matthew Freake, Leigh Goff, and Sharon Ledwith for making this leap with us onto the shelves of bookstores everywhere. You are all fantastic and I’m glad we’re in this together.
